EYE PROTECTION AGAINST STRONG UV RADIATION
That's why Aiden and Jesse Emilo initially developed the Rex Specs for their own dogs Tuckerman and Yaz. Tuckerman was diagnosed with German Shepherd Keratitis and Yaz was diagnosed with chronic sunburn of the eyelid, which lacks pigment. After many stages of development and various design concepts, the current model of the Rex Specs was created. Just a few decades ago, dogs didn't wear sunglasses, there were no dog coats and it was almost unimaginable that the food bowl was in the apartment. Today, our dogs are our best friends, family members and constant companions.

YOUR HUNTING DOG PREFERS TO BE ON THE ROAD THAN AT HOME....
Ben Webster has been the head of a hunting business in Kansas for 16 years and specializes in waterfowl and upland hunting. His dogs have repeatedly suffered minor eye injuries while hunting or rummaging in the undergrowth. Last year, his dog ran through the branches of a fallen tree and injured his cornea. Luckily, the eye was saved, but since then Ben has been using Rex Specs for his dogs. Or maybe you are like Bernd, a hunter from northern Germany who told us at the trade fair in Neumünster about his dog, who does a good job as a hunting and family dog. After a few minor eye injuries while hunting in the cornfield, Bernd decided on the Rex Specs. The dog belongs to him and his wife and Bernd said: "... if I come home with an injured dog, I can move out straight away."

PROTECTION FROM WIND, DUST AND FOREIGN BODIES
Do you also have a dog that can't get enough of looking out the open window while driving? Is your best friend an absolute beach fan and loves to roll around in the sand and dig until he comes out on the other side of the globe? Or do you have one of those puppies that are always looking for new, interesting things in hard, sharp grass or other pointy things? And if you think about it, wouldn't you wear protective goggles when you ride a motorbike, convertible or bicycle to protect yourself from the wind, insects and dust? The same goes for the beach - who doesn't like to use sunglasses to protect themselves from the sun and sand?

EYE PROTECTION FOR SERVICE DOGS
When the Rex Specs were developed, it was clear from the start that the glasses would also have to meet the requirements of service dogs. Since then, the Rex Specs have been used by service dogs in the military, police, border guards and rescue teams around the world. They protect the dog's eyes from the wind from the rotor blades when abseiling from helicopters. During police operations at demonstrations or Bundesliga games, they are used to protect the dog's eyes from foreign objects. In the bullet resistance test (ANSI Z87 1 Certification), which the Rex Specs passed without any problems, a 16 gram projectile is shot at a window at a speed of 270 km/h. With the Rex Specs, rescue dogs have full UV protection when deployed in the mountains and in the snow.

EYE PROTECTION DUE TO MEDICAL NECESSITY AND AFTER EYE SURGERY
Your dog has an eye disease and needs to be protected from UV rays, or the pupils no longer close properly and urgently need glare protection outside the house. Blind dogs use the Rex Specs to be able to rummage around in the bushes unhindered and unharmed. Dogs after surgery have optimal protection for their operated eyes with the Rex Specs.
