Instructions for adjusting the straps

The video shows how it works

Adjusting the straps to your dog is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL! The correct fit and adjustment will ensure that the goggles stay in place and are as comfortable as possible for your dog. It is unlikely that you will be able to adjust the straps PERFECTLY the first time - it may take a few tries to get everything adjusted so that the goggles fit securely, comfortably and functionally. If you have any questions, please contact us.

How do I adjust the straps on the dog goggles?

  • elastic part

Make sure the elastic part of the strap fits snugly under the dog's chin. It should not be stretched when your dog has his mouth closed, nor should it be loose. It should have just a tiny bit of tension. When your dog opens his mouth, the elastic stretches. If the goggles are adjusted correctly, they should stay in place and your dog should be able to move his jaw fully.

  • Two fingers between fur and strap

Bring the ends of the straps up and behind the dog's ears and close the buckle. When the strap is properly tightened, about two fingers should fit under the strap. A good fit and training go hand in hand

  • side straps

Adjustments to the side straps can make a big difference in the fit and performance of Rex Specs. Adjust the side straps so that the main strap forms a slight angle. This will hold the goggles firmly to the dog's forehead and prevent them from slipping on the dog's face. Adjust the main strap accordingly as the side strap adjustment will affect the length of the main strap.
